The Russo-Ukraine War shows that economic sanctions cannot end the war effectively, and it is impossible to enforce sanctions on China due to the cost and opposition from the market forces. In the event of China's invasion of Taiwan, land forces cannot be amassed, and resupply can only be done through air and sea due to the island geography of Taiwan, which is a logistical nightmare for the US. Taiwan should modernize its military through purchases over five years by increasing its defense spending and equipping itself with modern military technologies such as drones, anti-air missiles, and aircraft (F-16). These initiatives will turn Taiwan into a porcupine that can deter Chinese aggression.
